Made to make your mouth water!

I went a little fruity today! Not only did I paint my nails with my new apple green nail polish, I also made this mouthwatering spiral rope bracelet. I’ve used a Miyuki seed bead mix called Sunshine which is twisting around a core of transparent orange. For the closure I’ve used an artisan lampwork bead handmade by Rob Johnson and made a little beaded loop. I had fun making this bracelet, it really brightened up my day!

Of course, for those of you who aren’t the least bit interested in how it was made and just want to get your hands on this zesty little number, you can find Orange With a Twist of Lemon on my website and in my Etsy shop ;)

Easygoing Bracelets

A few days ago I realised that I only had two bracelets on my website so I thought I’d better do something about it! I’m in the mood for something simple at the moment so I’ve chosen to make some spiral rope bracelets. They’re easy to make, very easy to wear and I’m having fun combining different colours.

Turquoise Delight is in yummy shades of turquoise blue and chocolate brown and features a handmade lampwork bead closure…

…and Anne Boleyn is in rich royal shades of deep ruby red and metallic gold with a glass bead and loop clasp…

Both are available on my website and in my Etsy shop.

Lush Lampies

I’ve had this set of gorgeous deep red lampwork beads made by the very talented Julie Fountain of Lush Lampwork for some time and this week I was adamant that I was going to do something with them. After much head scratching I decided to turn them into book thongs! You can read more about it in my post on Operation Tackle That Bead Stash.

Moon Daisy, Phobos & Deimos and Solar Flare are all available in my Etsy shop.

A lot on my plate…

This is a pendant that was commissioned by a lovely lady called Sharon. She makes her own jewellery but seed beading isn’t really her thing so she sent me the lampwork cabochon (made by Tania Grey) to be made into a pendant. After a few trial runs I decided it looked best with these silver-lined sapphire blue seed beads. I’m delighted to say that she loved the finished piece and I’m looking forward to seeing what she does with it : )

I found this collection of beads after sorting through one of my boxes, they’re all beaded beads that I made while developing and testing my tutorials. Some weird colour combinations there but I love how they look once I’d plated them all up! The big grey one was meant to be a light-pull for my bathroom but when I finished it I realised that I wasn’t going to get the thick cord through it…hmmm…it’s not just the cord that was a bit thick. Lol!

Orphans

Here are a couple of book thongs that I made recently. I’ve only just found the time to sort out the photos and list them, there seems to be 1001 things to do at the moment! I’ve used a couple of gorgeous little artisan lampwork beads and combined them with clusters of Swarovski crystals. I love adopting these little orphan lampwork beads and these two seemed perfect for book thongs. You can find them in my Etsy shop.

And I got another wonderful beady parcel from the Acorn Club, this time in beautiful blues. I made this little Moonbaby pin as a Mother’s Day gift for my Nan : )

Lucky, lucky, lucky

December must be my lucky month! Not only was it my birthday and I received some beautiful cards, gifts and good wishes from my family and friends, including a gorgeous sewing box from my very good friend Sue. I also was lucky enough to win a box of amazing artisan lampwork beads from Sarah at FlameForceFive, thank you Sarah : )

Then I was so pleased to discover that I’d won the Artist of the Month challenge over on the UK Beaders forum with my Dark Twist necklace! As well as all that, my Enchanted Earrings project is in the latest issue of Bead Magazine (issue 19). I haven’t been too good healthwise lately with one thing and another, so all of this has cheered me up immensely : )

It’s been a while since I made any cards but I got the urge to make some this week. I’ve stuck to a very simple style; stamped Pollycraft Winter Elves and a polar bear by Anita’s coloured with Promarkers and glittered, Shabby Princess backing papers, some ribbon and sentiments printed on the computer. Hope you like them.

And here’s another of my Fairground Attraction pendants that sold before I had a chance to show you! I adore the colour combination in this one, based around the shades in the mix of cubes called Serenity, consisting of blue, purple, green and white.
