Snow White

It’s been snowing on and off here all day and everything looks so pretty! I just hope it doesn’t freeze over like it did recently, the gritters didn’t come down our little cu-de-sac at all and for almost a week it resembled an ice rink!

Talking of snow, ice and winter, I want to show you a photo I received from the lovely Mabel. She made this beautiful Christmas tree decoration by following the instructions for my Winter’s Heart pendant which was a project in the Winter Sparkle issue of Bead magazine. I’m sure you’ll all agree she’s done a wonderful job! I think it’s a brilliant idea to make a tree decoration (imagine a tree covered with these!) and the red ribbon really sets of the design. I love it!

Winter’s Heart

I’ve been so busy creating lately that I haven’t had very much time to blog, so this is going to be an epic catch-up post! First of all, I’m so excited to see my Winter’s Heart project in the new Winter Sparkle Special of Bead magazine! It’s been a long time coming but totally worth the wait. I’m pleased to see that they included all the step-by-step photographs I sent which is brilliant as it makes the project so much easier to follow. For those of you who don’t have a clue what I’m talking about, here are some photographs of the finished pendants. Created using bead embroidery, the white and silver pendant is the original colourway, while the blue and white is the second pendant I made to show how it’s done. Coming to my Etsy shop and website very soon!

I’ve also been busy making new book thongs and listed these in my Etsy shop this evening…

Black Magic

Sweet Dreams

I’ve also added a brand new set of beaded beads…Planet Earth…

…and a new beaded bead necklace called Bonfire Night which was inspired by one of my favourite nights of the year. It’s my entry into the Etsy Beadweaver’s November challenge where the theme is ‘Holiday Treasures’.

Last but not least, my beadwork has been in some wonderful Etsy Treasuries recently!

A cuff and my first lariat

Here’s a couple of new pieces I’ve made recently. First up is a cuff I made for my sister using a new tutorial from Lynn Davy. I found the instructions really easy to follow and had a lot of fun making it!

Second is my very first lariat! This is from the current issue of Bead magazine (issue 21) and designed by Jean Power. I’ve used all sorts of beads in this, seeds, cubes, drops etc in shades of purple and green. You can read more about both of these projects on the Operation Tackle That Bead Stash blog.
