I’ve finally got the tutorial for my Black Eyed Susan pendant finished! I’ve been working on it for a while now but in the end I wasn’t happy with the step-by-step photos I’d taken, so I decided to redo them all. This project is a mixture of bead embroidery and beadweaving, using seed beads and a cabochon or button. All simple techniques and suitable for beginners and advanced beaders alike. As you can see from the photo, you’re not limited to making Black Eyed Susan’s either, with a change of colour you can make any of the flowers in the daisy-like family. You can find the tutorial in my Etsy shop and in the Beads & Tutorials section on my website : )

To accompany my beaded bead tutorial I’ve created a tutorial for my new Colossal bead! These 24mm beads are beadwoven using size 11/0 Japanese seed beads, make great pendants or focal beads for necklaces and have other non-jewellery uses such as light pulls, key rings etc. In the tutorial I guide you throught the process of creating one of these fab beads row-by-row and with step-by-step colour photos it’s also suitable for total beginners. It’s available from my website and my Etsy shop.

I got so many lovely comments about my circular pendants that I decided to create a tutorial! I’ve included large colour step by step photographs so it’s suitable for beginners and experienced beaders alike. You can find it here on my website and in my Etsy shop : )
EZ-Mount tip August 5, 2009

Yesterday I decided that it was time to finish what I started and put the rest of my rubber stamps onto EZ-Mount foam. As usual I ran out – I think one more sheet should do it – but rather than throw the ’useless’ scraps away I thought of a way to make use of them.
Cut them up into more manageable shapes, peel off the backing and make a mosaic of them on an acrylic block…..but make sure you have the tacky side up! Then put a rubber stamp on the top, peel the whole thing off the block and cut around as usual.
It’s not pretty but it does the job, the stamps print just as well and you save a little bit of money too. I got an extra four stamps mounted this way!
Excuse my awful cutting, I’m so rubbish at it!

I’ve finally got my beaded bead tutorial updated with step-by-step photographs! It’s quite a task getting close up, clear images of these tiny beads and the bad weather here hasn’t helped but we finally had a non-rainy day. Now my tutorial is suitable for complete beginners as well as intermediate beaders as no previous knowledge of peyote/gourd stitch is required. The tutorial is on sale here in my Etsy shop and on my website. Go on, learn something new ; )
